Dena’ina: Nat’uh Our Special Place. The story about the indigenous people of Cook Inlet region (by Alexandra McClanahan, Aaron Leggett, and Lydia L. Hays) includes the early Kachemak Tradition people but with primary focus on the Dena’ina Athabascan people. The story is depicted in the historical/cultural arts displays primarily on the first floor in the Nat’uh (CITC) Building, located at 3600 San Jeronimo Drive, Anchorage, Alaska. The historical/cultural arts displays include The Dena’ina story; a map of Cook Inlet with English, Dena’ina and Ahtna words corresponding to the English place names on the map; a timeline for Cook Inlet region, information about Dena’ina counting cords; select historical pictures and captions from villages throughout the region; and selected quotations from Alaska Native people of Cook Inlet region, including the quote, their names, and dates.
