Individuals who may apply for scholarship, grant, and fellowship programs from The CIRI Foundation are as follows:

The CIRI Foundation Scholarship, Fellowship, and Grant Programs: Original enrollees of CIRI and their direct lineal descendants (see Definitions section on page #7 of the TCF Application).

Village Scholarship and Education Grant Programs: Original enrollees and their direct lineal descendants of:

  • Kenai Natives Association (KNA Scholarship and Grant Program only).
  • Ninilchik Native Association, Inc. (NNAI Scholarship and Grant Program only).
  • Salamatof Native Association (SNAI Scholarship & Grant Program only), including spouses.
  • Tyonek Native Corporation (TNC Scholarship and Grant Program only) and members of The Native Village of Tyonek (NVT).
  • Eklutna, Inc. (Eklutna, Inc. Scholarship and Grant Program only).

Definitions

Original Enrollees: Alaska Natives who originally enrolled to a regional or village corporation as provided in the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act of 1971 (ANCSA). Inherited or gifted shares do not qualify as original enrollment.

Lineal Descendants of Original Enrollees: Direct lineal descendants are the natural or legally adopted children, grandchildren, etc. of an original enrollee to a regional or village corporation as provided in the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act of 1971 (ANCSA).

Lineal: [adjective] Descending in a straight unbroken line from parent to child from an ancestor; as, a lineal descent, or a lineal descendant.
